So Cute...

So my mom sends me forwards while she is at work and I had to share this one. Its called "why we love children" and it told several stories about different experiences from different parents. Here were a few of my favorites: ENJOY!

NUDITY I was driving with my three young children one warm summer
evening when a woman in the convertible ahead of us stood up and waved.
She was stark naked! As I was reeling from the shock, I heard my
5-year-old shout from the back seat, 'Mom, that lady isn't wearing a
seat belt!'

KETCHUP A woman was trying hard to get the ketchup out of the jar.
During her struggle the phone rang so she asked her 4-year-old daughter
to answer the phone. 'Mommy can't come to the phone to talk to you right
now. She's hitting the bottle.'

MORE NUDITY A little boy got lost at the YMCA and found himself in
the women's locker room. When he was spotted, the room burst into
shrieks, with ladies grabbing towels and running for cover. The little
boy watched in amazement and then asked, 'What's the matter, haven't you
ever seen a little boy before?'

POLICE It was the end of the day when I parked my police van
in front of the station. As I gathered my equipment, my K -9 partner,
Jake, was barking, and I saw a little boy staring in at me. 'Is that a
dog you got back there?' he asked. 'It sure is,' I replied. Puzzled, the
boy looked at me and then towards the back of the van. Finally he said,
'What 'd he do?'

60 degrees?

Holy cow! Did it really get up to 60 degrees yesterday? Man, it was wonderful! Utah is so much more pleasant when I don't feel like my eyes are going to freeze in their sockets or I might loose a toe to frost bit. Ok, maybe that's a bit dramatic, but I love heat. Humidity too but I cant be too picky while in Utah. Just wanted to express my enthusiasm for this wonderful weather we are having. I don't even mind the rain. I actually like the rain, especially the sound of it. Its very therapeutic. Yeah for Spring!

The Hoopers are a Hoot!

Last night we had so much fun with Kent and Karlee. We ate dinner with them and just visited. Jared and I hadn't seen them since before we were married. Jared worked with Kent doing summer sales in Dallas and Karlee and I worked in the office together. I can't believe its been 2 1/2 years since Jared and I were married. It seems almost a lifetime ago that we were single and NOT in Utah.
I got to meet little Boston last night too. Thats the Hoopers little boy and my goodness he is just the cutest little thing. He would grab my finger and take me to his room to see all his footballs. SO adorable. Im serious about the babysitting thing Karlee! hehe
Jared and I are really grateful to have such wonderful friends. We ready to hang out again guys! Lets play some games! hehe

Ok so there are a few things I have to get off my chest about this. First of all, I, like many of you, became absolutely addicted to the Twilight books. I read the first three books all in one weekend and was on pins and needles until the last one FINALLY came out. I've read all four book three times total. They are so hypnotizing. I get lost in the characters and the plot of the story. Let's face it girls, we fantasize about impossible situations where our man always comes out triumphant. (doesn't hurt that he is freakin' hot and indestructible either huh?)
However, when it came to the movie I have to say it was the worst thing since movies like "She's All That" and "Teen Witch." It was a cheap CW version of what could have been a very magical fantasy. HORRIBLE! I've heard all this hype about the movie and I'm just wondering if everyone else is nuts for loving it or if I'm nuts for seemingly being the ONLY one who hates it. Come on you guys! "Hang on Spider-Monkey?" Are you kidding me with a line like that?
To me, the movie robbed a lot from the actual book. It made us Twilight fans seem very juvenile and childish, which ironically is what makes Twilight so endearing. Only when your young of heart and soul can you actually appreciate love like Bella and Edward's. But this teeny bopper of a movie distorted that into something laughable and potentially the worst attempt at portraying characters of any book. In all honesty, I feel that I could have more successfully directed that film with my eyes closed. Not because I think I would be good at it, but because I think ANYONE could have done it better.
Ok, Im sorry if I offended any Twilight movie fans (sorry Ran), but I think we should all face the facts that the movie was an pitiful attempt at filmography.  Thanks for letting me vent.

Little Cocoa! Aint she cute!

So I know Christmas was a couple of months ago, but Im just now uploading those pictures to the computer. Jared and I went to Alabama Christmas day and spent about a week and a half with my family. It was awesome (and so much warmer than provo!) haha We did alot of traveling while we were there. We drove to Texas so I could visit my grandparents and sister with her family. Then we drove to Georgia for New Years so that we could visit that side of the family as well. LOTS of traveling! My parents got the cutest puppy for Christmas, a mini Schnauzer. They named her Cocoa. Shes adorable. Anyway, we had a blast and i CAN NOT wait to see my parents in April! They dropped me off in Idaho four and a years ago, so it seems fitting they should get me outta here! hehehe jk! It is ironic though. I honestly didn't think i would make it through that semester much less 4 1/2 years of being here! haha So here are some Christmas photos!

Valentine's Day

Jared and I had a blast with Cali and Geoff! We love hanging out with them so much. I swear i had to pee like twenty times from laughing so hard! hahaha  We had a fondue party with them. We had cheese fondue with bread and apples. And we had a french dip for the steak and chicken. Then we had chocolate fondue for strawberries and bananas. It was SO yummy! Cali also made some red velvet cupcakes that were so amazing! After we ate we played a couple of "grown up" games that were so much fun. We had such a great time guys, as usual! Here are some pics:

You have to check this out!

Almost curtain time!

My parents bought their plane tickets yesterday to fly up here in April. They are helping us move and drive our stuff down to Alabama. Now that they bought their tickets, its official. I can't believe Jared is almost graduated and we are leaving Provo! We are both SO excited about this move. It's sad too though cause we have to leave Jared's family and all of our friends we've made here. I hate how everything seems to always be bittersweet. You can't have the good without the bad right?
Well we are excited none the less!!!

Two years ago this month, Jared and I went on a cruise to Grand Cayman. It was a lot of fun but when we got back I was hit with some big news. My mom and dad were in Texas visiting my grandmother because it turned out she was diagnosed with a terminal cancer during our cruise week. I was devastated when I heard and I took it really hard. I get choked up now thinking about it....
Im very close to my Mamaw Peg. My family actually moved into their home while we were building our own home and she became such an important and pivotal person in my life. I can honestly say I would be on a different path without her guidance. She always encouraged me to move to Utah and find a "worthy handsome young man." She is the most wonderful example of love and servicel. I remember when I was about 17, after I gave a talk in a sacrament meeting at church she passed me a note that said "I want to be like you when I grow up." I still have that note, but its her I want to be like when I grow up.
When I finally got to visit her after I heard the news, she looked so frail and was bald from the chemo. I just couldnt believe all this was happening, it felt like a horrible nightmare. But she has the best attitude and is honestly ready for whatever the Lord has planned for her. Ive since been able to see her about 3 or 4 times and she is as active and strong as I remember her being.
Whenever February comes around I think about that awful phone call i got saying mamaw peg had lymphoma cancer and it makes me grateful for being able to be apart of her lineage and her life. It is so short and so fragile.....

This is my mamaw peg, me and papa skip. Two of my most favorite people on this planet.

She is such a tower of faith and strength. I love you mamaw!

Random stuff from the past few years

Here is a pic of me while we were in New York on our honeymoon! I think this is Washington Square... right by NYU if I remember.

This is our last day there, we are up on top of the Rockefeller center, it has an amazing view! I of course liked the view in this shot the best...!

This is when we ran into my cousin Spencer in New York, he was a ton of fun for the little while we hung out. He really helped make it a much better time from all the area advice he gave. He told us the coolest things to see, and where to go so we didn't wast time on the stuff that wasn't as cool.

This was while we were engaged, and selling Pest Control for Jared Brown. He took the whole office on a vacation down to Schliderbaun the water park, and San Antonio. This is a shot of Ashlee as we were doing the riverwalk. It was so pretty there!

Ok, check this out. Ashlee's Nana made this for our wedding reception we had in New Boston. All of that is fruit! Isn't that pretty amazing?

This was when we went to St Louis for my birthday. We Stayed in this really cool hotel, and we went and did sealings at the Temple. All in all it was pretty fun, but a lot of downtown looked pretty ghetto...
Ashlee said I needed to put this one up.
I love water skiing! Wish I could do it more...
This is a picture of Ashlee just after we had started dating, and while I was in Texas but she was in Idaho. She sent it to me over the summer... no wonder I fell head over heels! Is it just me or does she look amazing!?
The picture above is a picture of ashlee as we are going to the formal dinner on the cruise we went on a while ago... I like that dress alot! I need to talk her into wearing it more often.

This is us at the airport going in to change our clothes for the set of next picturesShe looks spectacular doesn't she?

I'm pretty lucky!
This is her getting ready for our wedding, she was up way early, I got to sleep in... man weddings are hard on girls, they put a ton of work in!
Doin her makeup!

So I thought I'd just put something up. you know cause we don't really have anything on here... yeah we're not the best bloggers...

Here are a few of my favorite pics of us over the last several years, and we're going to do better about bringing a camera around with us and actually updating this thing!

Super Bowl Sunday!

Well for the big game Jared and I went over to Cali and Geoff's apartment. We had tons of food like slyders (mini burgers), guacamole dip, brownies, chicken wings and candy. YUM! We played a couple of games and just visited. We love hanging out with them! They are such a blast! As for the big game itself, I knew the Steelers would win but had a little bit of hope for the underdog. All well. NFL just is NOT as much fun to watch as college ball. But we all laughed pretty hard at some of those commercials. hehe Anyway, thanks for having us over guys! We had so much fun! Let us know about that challenge we assigned! And we will work on ours too!
