Holy Moly

It has been a very long week for us. We have been packing, loading, driving, unloading, separating, washing, organizing..... it doesnt end. My parents have really saved us this week. They helped us drive from utah to alabama and are letting us store all of our stuff here at their house. We are all exhausted. I dont ever want to do that again! ever! But I already feel back in my element being in the south. Its my heart and home. The people here are my family. I belong here. 

Jared and I just want to thank our wonderful friends and family who came to help us move our stuff. I can not express my gratitude enough for that. We love yall and miss yall already, really we do. I will admit that I miss my family and friends, whether I liked Utah or not, it is a part of me too because my family is there too. I will be able to update a little more when we get to D.C. We will leave Tuesday to make that drive up north. Our driving isnt over yet but I wish it were. HAHA Until next time!...... Heres a cartoon of what I feel like right now. hehehe

Moving, Packing, Organizing OH MY!

This has been some pretty hard work. Packing up everything really sucks! haha two thirds of our stuff is going to Alabama in storage while the other third of it is going to D.C. with Jared and myself. The apartment is a mess and I am frazzled! Luckily my parents are here to help. It has been so wonderful to have them here. I hated being so far away from them. We've been running errands and getting everything together. It's been a crazy weekend. We leave tomorrow morning around 9 or 10. Jared has a final still to take tonight at 7. I hope he does well. Anyway, its been busy and my feet are throbbing and my back is aching but its worth it! 

EXCITED!!

My parents are flying in this afternoon and I could not be more excited! My apartment is trashed because of the boxes everywhere but i dont care. I cant believe this is it. I havent seen my parents since Christmas, so Im SO excited to see them. Ive got lots of laundry and cleaning to do before we pick them up, but i just had to write about how freakin excited I am. 

All day yesterday Jared was all smiles and he kept yelling "We're leaving!!" hehe he is just as excited! YEAH!

Tea Party

I hope everyone at least heard about the Tea Party's that took place all over the country. My parents told me about them just the other day and after watching a couple of them on the news I was pumped to go too! I went to the one they had here in Provo. I was honestly shocked that that many people showed up. It certainly wasnt as exciting as the ones in Texas but still a good turnout especially with the freezing cold weather and snow. 

For those of you who have NO idea what Im talking about, shame on you. Hundreds of thousands of people all over the country joined together to express their anger and opinions about how much money and control our government is using. We are quickly becoming a socialist country guys and its scary. Texas is even threatening breaking off to their own Republic again. Man I love that state. We need to fight for our money, because the government already has my children owing money and they arent even born yet. Let's write to our state electors because they are supposed to vote according to THE PEOPLE not the politics. 

Lots of people made signs, but my favorite one was the from the Tea Party I saw in San Antonio. Its the flag from the Battle Of Goliad, the second battle of the Texas Revolution. It's a picture of a red arm and a sword cutting it off. The slogan was "I'd rather cut off my right arm than live under tyranny." And as a Texan AND an American, I feel the same way! S.O.S.

At first glance you may think these are old photos from the winter. But you would be painstakingly wrong. These pictures were taken today, April 15th. Thats right, snow in April. This is beyond the point of ridiculous. You might remember my previous post where I divorced this state, washed my hands of it. Well, its acting like a jerk exboyfriend who has to say something horrible every time you see them. Girls, you know that boy Im talking about. Well my ex (Utah) is saying : "HA! I got you one more week and Im gonna make it a nightmare. You dump ME? Yeah right!" 

Just look at the pictures...... they say it all.

CrAZy BoSs LaDy

Well my boss is officially nuts. Let me explain: I worked for her at her home as an office manager. When I showed up for the job interview in my pressed slacks and nice sweater, she answers the door in pjs with baby throw up all over it. But she was nice and I could start right away so I went for it. The entire eight months working with her has been impossible, like working for a child. 

So now that Jared and I are leaving, I decided that i wouldnt give her a two week notice because i knew her well enough to know she would just say "Just go on home. I dont need you anymore." And she would do this purely out of spite. So i told her on Friday that next friday would be my last day. Yesterday, tuesday, she tells me over instant chat on the computer TEN MINUTES before my shift is over not to come back tomorrow. She cant afford to keep me the last three days, she says. WHAT A PSYCHO LADY! She cant afford to let me work TWELVE more hours!? of course she can, she just wanted to last word, the upper hand... Whatever! She's crazy.

Im just so mad and hurt that I wasnt appreciated and respected more. I did so much for her, I went above and beyond my job. I only missed 2 days of work in eight months and that was because i couldnt talk from coughing my head off. And then I was thrown out like trash. Well i say GOOD RIDDANCE! 

Fate

Last night was a lot of fun for Jared and I. We made plans to have dinner with my friend Kimberly and her husband Tyler. It was really great to be able to see her before we leave in a week. We met at Texas Roadhouse and hung out for a little over an hour. Short but fun. On our way home I wanted to stop by the new Shoe Carnival that just opened up in Provo to check it out. But Jared really had to go to the bathroom so I said Fine we'll just go home then. But he knew I really didnt want to go home that early on a Friday night, sweet man, so he pulled in to Shoe Carnival. He practically ran to their bathroom while I roamed around. Once he was done, so was I. The store wasnt very impressive to me. As soon as we were about to leave, who comes in but our great friends Cali and Geoff. We were both thinking about how much we'd like to hang out with them too, but Im sick (yet again) and I knew I started feeling bad at night time. Anyway, long story short we decided to all watch a movie at their apartment. She had just finished painting their bedroom so I got to see it. It was so pretty. I loved the color (roadster blue). 

Jared and I just laughed at how funny it was that Cali and Geoff came to the same place we were at the same time. Of all the places in Provo to go.... it was very cool. I may not miss Utah, at all.... but i will definitely miss my friends. With all my heart.

I was sixteen going on seventeen......

My sister in law just turned 16 this week. Happy Birthday sweetie! It brought me back to when I was 16 years old. Here's what I remember:

1. My favorite movie at the time was Benny and Joon. It was my first Johnny Depp film and it began the obsession. Dont worry, Jared knows. 

2. I was so sure I would marry my boyfriend Mark Meadows.... it didnt work out. It also didnt work out with Mike Billings, Brad Fincher and John something, all of whom I dated at 16. I dated ALOT..... 

3. I just knew my mother and I would drive each other crazy. We were either best friends or worst enemies during this time of my life. Being a teenager was hard. Raising one was MUCH harder. I love you mom!

4. I was the volleyball queen in my school, following in my mother's and grandmother's shoes. I wanted to be on that court more than anything. I miss it so much. I won MVP out of about a hundred other girls in a tournament that year and its the only trophy I still have to this day. 

5. I had a really hard time in school with the girls. They didn't like me much. I switched schools three times that year. Probably the worst time in my whole life. 

6. I was one of two girls in my young women's program. It was the turning point in my life where I decided that I knew the gospel was true with all my heart and I was gonna stick this out. No young women in my class, no members in my school, my daddy was the bishop, my grandpa the first councilor. I HAD to be good! What a blessing that was for me.

7. I was already on my 2nd car by this time. I had 2 wrecks that year and went through another car by the time I was 17. (All in all, my record is 3 totaled cars and 8 wrecks.)

I think being 16 was hard for me. I wrote in my journal one particularly hard day "If i ever get to relive my life, I will skip this year." The teenage years seem to be the ones that mold us. Like the toss up before a serve, it tells you where the ball will go. Good thing I became I great server.

Senior Citizen Party of ONE...

I think this might have been my first official "senior citizen" moment. Yesterday, I grilled burgers for Jared and myself around 6. I ate, they were very good by the way, and then put the rest in a tupperware bowl for Jared when he got off work. Then Jared texts me saying he's coming home early since he is sick.
I had already cleaned up the kitchen, but I go back in to get his burger ready. And here is where the crazy hit me.... I couldn't find those burgers ANYWHERE! I remembered I put them in a bowl, but couldn't FOR THE LIFE OF ME remember where I put the bowl. I looked in the dishwasher, the freezer, the fridge, the oven, the pantry, even the couch. I couldn't find them anywhere. I laughed out loud so hard. It was pretty funny. I imagined Jared coming home saying "where's dinner" and me saying "I dont know...." hahaha
Well luckily, about five minutes before he got home I found the burgers. I had put them in the microwave to keep them warm.... Anyway, dont worry. I can remember my mother having similar fits like this when I was practically a baby. So its genetic. hahah I told Jared about it when he got home and we laughed pretty hard. Its official, Im just like my mom in EVERY way.... hehehe
